In June 2010, Motor Oil (Hellas), Corinth Refineries S.A. completed the buyout of Shell operations in Greece. Following this agreement, the company’s name changed from “Shell Hellas S.A.” to “Coral S.S.”.  The scope of the agreement covers Shell’s business operations in the field of petrol stations, commercial and industrial fuel, bitumen, supply and distribution, liquid gas, chemicals and lubricant production facilities in Greece.

Shell’s approximately 700-station network was also transferred to Motor Oil, retaining however the trademark and continuing to distribute Shell products.
