SingularLogic actively supported the 2nd Innovation Marathon "Apps4Athens Hackathon 2.0: AI Edition" of the Municipality of Athens


SingularLogic, a member of the Space Hellas Group, supported as a sponsor and active partner the 2nd Innovation Marathon "Apps4Athens Hackathon 2.0: AI Edition", organized by the Municipality of Athens on 15–16 November 2025 at Serafeio.

The event, organized by DAEM S.A. in collaboration with leading universities and organizations, and supported by European projects such as the BUILDSPACE, coordinated by SingularLogic, highlighted the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a catalyst for the digital transformation and sustainable development of modern cities.

The Marathon brought together more than 40 teams and 250 participants - students, university students, researchers, startups, and AI enthusiasts who developed innovative solutions addressing urban climate resilience, sustainable mobility, and sustainable urban development. The winning teams received the following awards:

  • Cloud9ine won the 1st award for its real-time digital twin solution for predicting and simulating wildfire spread, receiving the €3,000 prize.
  • Intellectiva received the 2nd award in the competition for the AI application that forecasts public transport demand and optimizes routes, receiving the €2,000 prize.
  • North South Alliance won the 3rd award for its street-level visualization solution that evaluates the sustainability and comfort of each neighborhood, receiving the €1,000 prize.
  • Eco Maps for its ecological navigation platform that calculates the most environmentally friendly route, and wAIsteflow, for the AI-powered smart waste collection and route optimization solution, won the 4th award. The two teams shared the €1,000 prize.

SingularLogic significantly contributed to the event's success by providing cash prizes, mentorship, and expertise to competing teams, utilizing its extensive experience and knowledge in digital innovation. The company was represented at the opening ceremony by Dr. Ioannis Mertzanis, CEO of SingularLogic, who highlighted the importance of strengthening the innovation ecosystem and the potential of AI technologies to develop solutions that elevate citizens' quality of life while promoting sustainable urban operations. Dr. Stamatia Rizou, R&D Manager at SingularLogic, served on the evaluation committee and, together with Mr. Stelios Papandreou, General Manager at the company, presented the award to the team that secured 2nd place.

With a strong presence in research and development projects focused on urban sustainability through cutting-edge technologies, and in developing solutions for climate-resilient cities and smart urban data management, SingularLogic supports initiatives that promote digital innovation and contribute to the creation of sustainable, smart cities.
