POWERYOUTH

Project Summary

POWERYOUTH aims to empower young individuals to actively contribute to the energy transition. The core of the POWERYOUTH concept is a participatory approach that fosters dialogue between youth and local stakeholders, including local authorities and policymakers. This initiative empowers young people to actively engage in energy communities.

Aligned with the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, which focuses on three main areas—connect, engage, and empower—POWERYOUTH will develop tools and methods to facilitate these stages. It will deliver a participatory democracy platform featuring a ‘PARTICIPATE’ tool for youth to express their opinions, a ‘DECISION’ tool to aid collective decision-making, and a ‘FINANCE’ tool to promote innovative business models and financing schemes.

POWERYOUTH will be implemented through pilot projects in five EU countries, aiming to establish at least 10 empowered youth energy communities and engage at least 1,000 young people and other stakeholders. Additionally, leveraging EU-wide networks of local and youth communities, POWERYOUTH will create a capacity-building program to develop a group of Youth Energy Community Leaders, who will serve as multipliers to replicate the POWERYOUTH approach across the EU.

Our role

SingularLogic serves as the Project Coordinator (WP1). SingularLogic coordinates the WP2 “Interactive tools for empowering youth energy communities” and is leading the T2.2 ‘PARTICIPATE’ tool, as well as T3.3 “New Business Models for the youth energy communities”. SingularLogic is also leading the T4.4 “Youth Energy Community Leaders replication plan”.
