SingularLogic participates at the ICARUS International Consortium. The aim of ICARUS is to design, implement and extensively test a multi-sided technological platform enabling novel-data value chains in aviation-related sectors towards data-driven innovation and collaboration, across currently diversified and fragmented industry players.
ICARUS acts as a major enabler and multiplier of the “combined data value” using methods, such as big data analytics, deep learning, semantic data enrichment and blockchain-powered data sharing. ICARUS addresses the critical barriers for the adoption of Big Data in the aviation industry, (e.g. data fragmentation, data provenance, diverse schemes of data licensing and ownership, data veracity, etc.). The project enables a variety of aviation-related big data scenarios for EU-based companies, organizations and scientists through a multi-sided platform that will allow exploration, curation, integration and deep analysis of original, synthesized and derivative big data in a trusted and fair manner.
The ICARUS project brings together the aerospace, tourism, health, security, retail, transport, weather and public sectors, as it accelerates their data-driven collaboration, under the prism of novel aviation-related data value chains. At the same time, it enables identification of valuable data and conclusions that will optimize various operations in these sectors. The project will demonstrate the potential of the multi-sided platform and data analysis aiming at:
-
Sophisticated passenger handling mechanisms and personalized services on ground facilities, piloted at the Athens International Airport
-
Enhanced route analysis of aircrafts for improved fuel consumption optimization and pollution awareness, piloted in Germany
-
Acurate and relistic prediction of epidemics, piloted in Italy
-
Novel passenger experinces pre-, in- and post-flight, piloted in Cyprus
The ICARUS consortium consists of 11 partners from 6 European countries: Ubitech Ltd. (Greece), Engineering SPA (Italy), PACE Aerospace Engineering and Information Technology GmbH (Germany), Suite Data Intelligence Solutions Ltd (Ireland), University of Cyprus (Cyprus), Cineca Consorzio Interuniversitario (Italy), OAG Aviation worldwide Ltd (UK), SingularLogic S.A. (Greece), Istituto per l’ Interscambio Scientifico (Italy), Cellock Ltd. (Cyprus), Athens International Airport S.A.. (Greece). The project received funding by the European Commission under the Horizon2020 Framework Program, started in January 2018 and will last for 3 years.
SingularLogic, a Marfin Investment Group (MIG) member, has a major role in the project’s coordination and participates as the integrator of the ICARUS multi-sided platform, being responsible for the integration of all data and data analysis tools, as well as for the interoperability of all platform components and their robust functioning against or potential end users and demonstrators
