12,000 tablets and 4,700 mobile devices significantly accelerated results updates

The elections’ portal on the 1st Sunday evening received 4,000,000 unique visitors from 19:00 to 24:00, 70% of which used a mobile device

The collection and broadcasting of the election results of the European Parliament and Local Elections 2019, undertaken by SingularLogic, a Marfin Investment Group member, on behalf of the Ministry of Interior, was successfully realized.

The innovations adopted by the company in said elections, further improved the electoral procedure and provided timely and accurate information to the citizens.

In particular, SingularLogic, on both Sundays, promptly and accurately announced the estimations of the final results of the elections, utilizing the results collected using the Secure Result Transmission (SRT) method, via tablets and mobile devices.

In these elections, SingularLogic used 12,000 tablets with a specialized and user friendly application, which had the capability to cover multiple elections (European Parliament, Regional, Municipal), not only regarding the votes in favor of Political Parties but also in favor of individual Candidates. The tablets were distributed in all the electoral centers in the Region of Attica, as well as in selected electoral centers in the rest of the Country. Thus, for the first time the actual results were immediately available directly from the electoral centers. This new procedure was performed additionally to the statutory procedure for transmitting the results, with impressive results. Indicatively we mention that on the 1st Sunday at 22:00 the results received from tablets were from 6,260 electoral centers, whereas the results received from transmission forms (telegrams) were from 1,560 electoral centers. Respectively on the 2nd Sunday at 20:30 the results received from tablets were from 11,320 electoral centers, whereas the results received from transmission forms were from 1,350 electoral centers.

For the European Parliament elections in particular, the integrated central system of the online registration of marks awarded to Candidates that the company implemented in the Regions, in combination with the Candidates’ mark voting that were transmitted by the tablets distributed in the Region of Attica, allowed timely overview of the marks awarded to European Parliament Candidates.

The Web Portal http://ekloges.ypes.gr supported by SingularLogic on behalf of the Ministry of Interior, completely redesigned for this year’s elections to offer extended information to citizens on a National and on Political Parties level, once again attracted international interest with visitors from more than 200 countries. This web portal continues to be the most visited, based on volume of data and number of users served, in such a short period of time. We indicatively mention that in the evening of the 1st Sunday the portal received 4,000,000 unique visitors from 19:00 to 24:00, 70% of which used a mobile device.

Simultaneously, numerous Greek and foreign popular websites utilized the ability to broadcast the election results through this Portal.

Furthermore, SingularLogic’s support system for the Court of First Instance, used by all the Courts of First Instance in the country in these elections, operated successfully and enabled the processing and prompt announcement of the official results of the elections.

Lastly, the Electoral Commission and Sorting Books designed and implemented by SingularLogic, assisted greatly the Judicial Representatives by enabling them to print the pre-filled Political Parties and Candidates lists, for every electoral procedure.

SingularLogic would like to thank the Ministry for the cooperation and adoption of its innovative proposals, as well as the Judicial Representatives that contributed to the success of the SRT system and the timely and accurate information to the citizens. Moreover, the company would like to thank its 200 employees and more than 300 external partners that participated in this project.
